How do I clear a cartridge jam in my HP printer?

Hewlett-Packard printers offer alternative printing options. Capsule jam may occur on the printer due to use and age. Buying a new printer or hiring a professional may not be an alternative. Solution 1
Press the Power button to turn off the printer. Wait for 1 minute. Press the Power button to turn the printer back on. Publish a self-assessment report. If the jammed cartridge material remains on the screen, go to the next step.

Solution 2
Remove through the printer's front door. If there is no paper jam, skip this step. Press both the release latches on the right and left and remove the access door. Remove all pieces of the roller. Replace the access door.

Press the Power button to turn on the printer. Disconnect the Ethernet or USB cables and the power from the rear of the printer. Lift the front entrance door until it locks into place. Remove the trace of the cartridge.


Solution 4
From left to right, slide the capsule back and forth. Reconnect the power cord. Press the printer to turn it around, if it doesn't turn on. Publish a self-assessment report. Go to the next step if the jam persists.

Solution 5
Connect the printer. Reconnect the Ethernet or USB cable. Try to print the file. Go to the next step if the file is not being published.

Solution 6
Press the Power button to turn off the printer. Disconnect the power cord. Remove from socket. Wait 30 minutes. Plug in the power cord. Reconnect the power cord. Press the Power button to turn the printer back on. Publish a self-assessment report. If these measures do not correct the capsule jam, contact HP.
